The Gnosjö primary school area consists of three F-6 schools and one 7-9 school. Our values are based on our guiding principles: community, care, knowledge, responsibility, respect, and safety. We are now looking for a temporary study and career counselor to be part of this mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a study and career counselor in the Gnosjö area, you will work based on the area's career guidance plan. At Bäckaskolan 7-9, you will conduct individual supportive and motivating counseling conversations, group counseling sessions aimed at students, and conduct lessons aimed at increasing students' self-awareness and broadening perspectives on study and career choices.

You have the ability to inspire and base your work on each student's conditions. You provide information to students and guardians regarding language choices and high school selections through teaching and guardian meetings. You support students in their study and career choices, prepare them for internships and high school selections, are responsible for study visits to high schools, and are part of the school's student health team. You are a link in collaboration for the student between primary school, high school, and social services, as well as with the high school's individual programs (IM) and the municipality's municipal activity responsibility (KAA).

Together with the principal, you are also responsible for developing the study and career counseling mission based on the general guidelines for study and career guidance. You collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop students' choice competence and contribute to creating a favorable learning and development environment for all students.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a degree in study and career counseling from a university or college, preferably in combination with experience.

You have an easy time building relationships with children and young people as well as knowledge to conduct motivating conversations. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a structured way. Furthermore, you are flexible and can work independently, take your own initiatives, and make decisions within given frameworks. Since the role requires good collaboration with both internal and external partners, we expect you to have good collaborative skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
